UKO, Marrickville

Construction Assignments continue to enjoy a strong relationship with the co-living boarding house operator, UKO. Having been appointed by a private investor, for the latest property in Marrickville, we provided client-side project management services for this Design and Construct project delivery model.

The purpose-built, new generation, boarding house offers 22 rooms, including a self-contained manager’s unit, communal kitchen, and living area with outdoor space. Located at 35-37 Warren Road, the property is within walking distance of Marrickville train station, bus routes to Sydney city centre, and the suburb’s vibrant restaurant and microbrewery scene.

UKO operate the property, their fifth under a successful co-living model. The brand aspires to make inner city living possible, inspiring a way to live well both privately, and as part of a vibrant community. The inclusion of shared living spaces and a knowledgeable local host also contribute to the sociable lifestyle on offer.

On behalf of the client, Construction Assignments administered a single head contract, as well as performing the role of Superintendent under the contract. The existing structure underwent demolition, and a purpose-built boarding house, with increased capacity and improved indoor and outdoor amenity and facilities, was constructed.
