Construction Assignments is happy to continue our support of private investors in the boarding house and co-living sector with 15-29 Cornwallis Street, Redfern.
This new-build development includes a roof top communal lounge and courtyard, bicycle racks, and back of house services. 62-rooms each with its own ensuite, kitchen, and private terrace. A third of the rooms are split-level with a mezzanine bedroom, and more than half have full height glazing. Intelligent layouts by Mostaghim architects, and building smarts by Greenpoint Construction Group, facilitate functionality within the small footprint rooms which range between 20m2 and 30m2 on average.
Located adjacent to Redfern train station, and walking distance to the city centre, the site is an attractive prospect for inner city living. Dry pressed bricks in capitol red with aluminium framed windows are a nod of acknowledgement to the areas industrial background. The area also offers plenty of culture with local breweries to the south and Surrey Hills’ famously trendy cafes and wine bars to the north.
Construction Assignments, as client-side project manager, led a successful modification of the existing consent through City of Sydney council, omitting two levels of basement parking and amending the internal configuration without affecting the external façade. With a strong feasibility in place, and an even stronger project team behind it, construction completion is targeted for last quarter of 2026. Construction Assignments will continue to act as client-side project manager and contract superintendent, throughout construction, until the end of DLP.
