Aspect Western Sydney School

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is the largest autism-specific service provider in Australia and one of the largest specialised, evidence-informed school programs in the world. Construction Assignments is proud to have partnered with Aspect during their largest simultaneous portfolio of construction works to date.

As Aspect’s representative and contract superintendent, Construction Assignments developed and executed an approved scope of construction works at Aspect Western Sydney School, located in Wetherill Park. This scope included the reconfiguration and hard refurbishment of classrooms, a separate administration building, a staff multi-purpose room, laundry, staff room, and staff and student amenities. Undertaken in three stages, significant planning ensured that the school remained fully operational throughout the works.

In collaboration with Design Inc Sydney, the project focused on improving technology, functionality, and sensory experiences. Electrical, mechanical, fire, and security systems were upgraded, and each classroom received acoustic treatment, advanced lighting design, smart boards, custom joinery, and student calm zones. Autism-appropriate signage was also integrated to guide staff and students seamlessly through their day, while suitable furniture supported focused, individualized learning.
