Keeping it in the hood

CA is fortunate to have so many truly local projects underway. One such brand new gem, proudly on the books is to have been engaged as client-side PM and Superintendent for the mixed-use development at 263-279 Broadway in Glebe. Our client, Sovereign Constructions Australia has assembled a top-notch consultant team lead by SJB. The project involves construction of 120 student accommodation apartments, atrium, roof top garden, retail, commercial and basement. With Development Consent finally in place, CA are rolling our sleeves up fast to make good things happen with the project team. The project is a stone’s throw from our Ultimo office and the place the Boss calls home.

Co-living coming in hot

CA now has over 600 new build co-living apartments underway across a handful of developments. CA’s co-living project delivery experience is a differentiator in this emerging fusion of the accommodation and residential sectors. It feels good to be industry favourites for those in the know in the co-living sector. We have been delivering these assets for almost 10 years.

lyf Bondi Junction Opens

CA has worked with Ascott on this lyf co-living project on the reporting and identification of defects along with completion handover of the building to the agreed design and workmanship. The property opened last month. CA values our long-standing relationship representing The Ascott Limited and safeguarding their project interests. Other projects CA have represented The Ascott Limited include:

  • Quest Orange
  • Quest Woolooware Bay
  • Citadines North Sydney
  • Bar Lettera

Four Points by Sheraton,
DIZZY Bird

CA has over the years made eating good charcoal chicken a team sport. Consequently, it has given us immense joy to look after the delivery of the Dizzy Bird venue for KSL at Marriott’s Four Points at Central Park. This tasty F&B re-positioning project was completed in late 2024. CA last year also worked with KSL, Bates Smart and New England Construction to increase guestroom inventory with the conversion of meeting/conferencing spaces to guestrooms. It has been a pleasure to work under the instructions of Hotel Capital Partners for both projects. Our Jay Spencer and Victoria Minter have been a brilliant team across the two projects. They can also vouch for the deliciousness of the Dizzy Bird chicken.

The Block, Season 21

DAYLESFORD VICTORIA

Filming has just started for Chanel 9’s Block 2025. Drenka and Jess recently broke bread with Block delivery stakeholders. It was a lovely night of gratitude for our collective achievements of the last 20 seasons, and friendships forged along with excitement for 2025. This year has us in regional Victoria’s Daylesford. We are once again doing what has never been done before in the last 20 seasons. We are a well-oiled machine these days with our treasured stakeholders.

“We are a well-oiled machine these days with our treasured stakeholders.”

Altro Neurodiversity Forum

2025

Our Sarah Davis last month presented at Altro’s Neurodiversity Forum 2025: Inclusive Design for All. Sarah was incredibly well-placed to share a powerful case study on designing autism-specific primary schools, showcasing how neurodiversity-focused design transforms learning spaces. Our work with Aspect Schools in the last 3 years taught us the impact of prioritising sensory needs and creating inclusive environments.

Aspect Treetops

ADELAIDE

CA is pleased to be back in the saddle with Aspect School at Treetops. As Superintendent we are managing a heritage conservation and landscaping scope to upgrade existing assets and extend the educational offering for students and staff. A safe pair of hands on the ground in Adelaide for Aspect is proving invaluable with Jess’s project background from an earlier stage on the project back in late 2022.

DOMA turns 50

LITTLE NATIONAL HOTEL ADELAIDE

Drenka, Andrew & Jess were honoured to attend DOMA’s 50* birthday party last December. These folk know how to throw a fine party. Big congrats to Ivan, Jure and all the Doma team for their successes. We are currently well underway with the delivery of Little National Hotel in Adelaide as DOMA’s client-side Project Manager and Superintendent. This beautiful hotel is due for completion in late 2026.

Absolute keepers

At CA we are a reasonably international crew. It was super exciting (& comforting) for our Jess and Victoria to have their Permanent Residency in Australia come through late last year. Unfathomable that it took so long as it’s been clear to us for years that they are both keepers. Big congratulations ladies.

“It’s been clear to us that they are both keepers.”

Climb every mountain

While most of us were working out how to see 2025 in, our Jess ticked off a bucket list achievement by summitting Mount Kilimanjaro.

Property Council of Australia, representation

We have CA team members proudly continuing to serve on Property Council of Australia Committees 2025/26 with NSW Hotel Property for Drenka and SA Future Leaders for Jess as Deputy Chair.

New Chair for Cultural Capital

We also congratulate Drenka on her recent appointment as Chair of Cultural Capital’s Board. Cultural Capital (CC) has now been Drenka’s side hustle for over 10 years.

Cultural Capital recently unveiled a new artwork by Kirthana Selvaraj at Accor Stadium at Olympic Park, commissioned by Venues NSW to commemorate the Matildas historic campaign at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™. ‘They will continue to work with Kirthana to adapt the painted artwork into a 57-metre-long animated projection that will extend across the exterior of Accor Stadium’s Cathy Freeman Stand.

I’ll have what she’s having!

CA’s 19th business anniversary in January, Drenka chose to mark the occasion by sharing her life/leadership coach story and expressing gratitude for the lessons and tools gained through their work together. You can read the Linkedin story here if you missed it: I’ll have what she’s having!
